Nullifying National Health Care in Kansas

This Tuesday, 10-27-09, Kansas State Senator Mary Pilcher-Cook and other state legislators will be announcing a “Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment” – a proposal for a state constitutional amendment that would effectively nullify national health care in that state. (h/t Jeff Matthews)
Already, four states are considering similar amendments, and more than 15 may see them introduced in the 2010 legislative session.
Writes Senator Pilcher-Cook:
These last few months have made it abundantly clear to us — it is urgent to stand up now to protect our heath care in Kansas.
If federal legislation is passed, ordering government to give free health care (or perceived to be free), there will be an unlimited demand that even the government will not be able to meet. Rationing comes next — government-run health care cannot supply all citizens with the health care they desire, which results in the federal government making the decisions about when and where to deny individual requests for health care.
I am dedicated to:
* Preserving the freedom of Kansans to provide for their health care.
* Safeguarding the liberty of Kansans from any federal government action, which would coerce participation in a health care system.
* Defending the independence of Kansans to pay directly for health care services without penalty.
Here’s an excerpt of the proposed amendments’ text:
Article 16. — HEALTH CARE
1. Health care.
(a) To preserve the freedom of Kansans to provide for their health care:
1. A law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer or health care provider to participate in any health care system.
2. A person or employer may pay directly for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines for paying directly for lawful health care services.A health care provider may accept direct payment for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines for accepting direct payment from a person or employer for lawful health care services or shall not be disqualified or otherwise excluded from participation in any health care system.
(b) Subject to reasonable and necessary rules that do not substantially limit a person’s options, the purchase or sale of health insurance in private health care systems shall not be prohibited by law or rule.
(c) This section does not:
1. Affect which health care services a health care provider or hospital is required to perform or provide.
2. Affect which health care services are permitted by law.
3. Prohibit care provided pursuant to the provisions relating to workers compensation.
4. Prohibit care provided pursuant to the provisions relating to state employee benefit programs.
5. Affect laws or rules in effect as of August 1, 2009.
6. Affect the terms or conditions of any health care system to the extent that those terms and conditions do not have the effect of punishing or penalizing a person or employer for paying directly for lawful health care services or a health care provider or hospital for accepting direct payment from a person or employer for lawful health care services.
(d) For the purposes of this section:
1. “Compel” includes penalties or fines.
2. “Direct payment or pay directly” means payment for lawful health care services without a public or private third party, not including an employer, paying for any portion of the service.
3. “Health care system” means any public or private entity whose function or purpose is the management of, processing of, enrollment of individuals for or payment for, in full or in part, health care services or health care data or health care information for its participants.
4. “Lawful health care services” means any health-related service or treatment to the extent that the service or treatment is permitted or not prohibited by law or regulation that may be provided by persons or businesses otherwise permitted to offer such services.
5. “Penalties or fines” means any civil or criminal penalty or fine, tax, salary or wage withholding or surcharge or any named fee with a similar effect established by law or rule by a government established, created or controlled agency that is used to punish or discourage the exercise of rights protected under this section.

It is indeed the 11th Hour. Surely winning a great game on Saturday does not change the challenges we as a Nation face. I urge all Americans to really research the CFR the Council of Foreign Relations.
Yes Beck is right on several issues but he is misleading the really big picture of the Federal Reserve and the CFR agenda that is soon to change our Country to a total World wide socialist dictatorship! Yes we voted almost a year ago but last I checked none of these bail outs and socialist programs were mentioned at all!

Congratulations to an Awesome Rally! First may I say thank you all! We are the ones that will carry the Banner for Liberty in the future!
I was unable to attend this Great and Historical event even though I had my ticket :( however I got a chance to be a witness to the complete Media blackout, bias, and information OMISSIONS going on at the same time as the event and I know now why the DC March that I was able to attend was so important not only now but for our future as well.
The video and News media is who we need to compete with plain and simple, including growing our action locally even more so by increasing our numbers and Political/Activism.
The fascism is so obvious it is scary. infiltrations, media attacks, black hats and yet we got it all on tape and by witnesses of several major events that happened. Some of the Speakers truely right on i.e Bruce Fein. You wonder why Palin was selected hmmmm. I'm in awe at some great remarks all over the web about our cause. I had at least 8 to ten web pages and links open including chat to just maintain the video feed from CSpan2. the local cable went off due to construction had to go wireless fast lost about an hour of this event.
Anyone who knows about Dr. Paul knows who we are. "We are the People" with the truth in front of any jury we will always win! So be a part of it!

Ron Paul Restore the Republic September 2nd 2008'
Can you imagine a better movie! It all began years ago remember, remember the 5th of November. The Republican values of old versa new. George W. Bush is now polled as the worst President of resent History beyond that of Richard Nixon. It would not be so bad but you gotta research the Bush family history seriously. Now what? Who's your friend McCain? I'll tell you not all Republicans and certainly not all the Americans in prison we are now ranked first in the world in incarcerations allot of which are for petty offences while Wall Street and Corporate crime are few and far between. Inflation, banks failing, auto makers and airlines going bust and the devaluation of the US dollar is wiping out the middle class as if that means if you own three houses is middle class I don't know McCain does. Continueing to Own and afford your own one house is the real middle class dilemma right now let alone fuel prices! No child left behind I wonder does that mean Iraq too! Let me get this straight we barrow money from China to blow up bridges in other countries then we tax the American people to rebuild them while our own bridges here at home are falling down. Something just is not right.
Even as the financial crisis and the war spending was not enough add to that our complete failure of foreign Policy around the world. Refer to Ron Paul's Book Peace & Prosperity. I remember the term you are either with us or against us. The Axis of evil does that now mean we include Russia and China I wonder? You can tell us the truth Government I'll be waiting. Is that like I'm globalist part of some special status quo thing or something now or was I an individual with constitutional rights past tense?
If anyone watched most of the Republican Debates, straw polls, caucuses and Primaries debacle witnessed the truth about politics and how it effects America and you wonder why Ron Paul got over 6 million dollars in one day with little mention and a complete news black out afterwords. Then the fact that Ron Paul got more Donors from the military than all the Democrats combined. Man I think back to the Hanging chads and the Florida vote count nightmare and you wonder what happened to the Republican Party and the American trust. We all enjoy our sports, work and just getting by without knowing we can make a change by getting involved or you can go back to your soap Oprah shows and your media biased networks bought and paid for so you will spend spend spend.
Thanks to Ron Paul's service in Congress he has awakened all of us to the real politics that has been happening to our country without us even knowing a thing about them. Now we are shocked to see bills like HR 1959 come around. You probably do not watch C-SPAN much but let me tell ya America is angry at what we've become and the numbers are growing. Let me see was not the Boarder an issue now? How about the Bank bail outs both Senators McCain and Obama felt is was not worthy of their vote because they did not vote! Don't they care about that much of our money spent for who and for what?
Republicans call yourselves compassionate conservatives, hmmmm let's see Abortions Federally funded, torture is ok and our citizens are being searched, set up, trapped, tazered and gased by Gestapo type tactics against our own sons and daughters, veterans, and even innocent people many have died and have been hurt as we Americans accept this as normal and you thought free speech was free. Remember the Tazered college student that got zapped for get this asking a question to John Kerry yeah and we laughed about it or how about a caged area for free speech this is now standard WTF. The new thing is pre-emptive arrest even before rallies and protests. Did you ever see the Iraqi and Afghanistan and Vietnam Veterans protesting against the war, or the thousand upon thousands of citizens that marched on the US Capital on July 12th 2008' from all over the country Oh you didn't see that on your propaganda box really! Why? because the Media is nothing more than Propaganda and Lies! Drugs and sex sells on TV remember every 4 minutes sheep go buy Zolof and viagra everything is fine and be happy!buy buy buy Not!
You never saw any great speeches by Ron Paul viewed and attended by the thousands while small grouping for others were aired on TV. You will never see Ron Paul's best speeches and videos on your local news channel. I even witnessed straw poll vote fraud in Florida by Mitt Romney supporters on YouTube! Did you know that Ron Paul won most of the straw polls by a wide number yet not one mention on the NEWS! Or even when Ron Paul won 100% of the straw poll in Kansas City amazing! These people are insane or wait that never happened right? Did you witness the FOX News media bias to deny Ron Paul a seat at the NH debate and get this there was not enough room at the table lol! or better yet how about all the limited time Ron Paul always got at the Debates! Hell were they even debates! Not really Every time Ron Paul went toe to toe with someone he always won and was the highlight of the debates but never highlighted by the media. Ron Paul also won most of debates. The one that sticks to my mind and their are so many was the one where they were all asked about bombing another country and they discussed consulting attorneys and Ron Paul's response was you have no authority you need to open up the constitution and read once in awhile. LOL I bet Ron Paul would love to debate John McCain one on one. Anyone who has researched on Ron Paul should know how smart Ron Paul is! Wow he even writes best sellers too! Wow you never hear that or would have thought that being that most media are complete biased against him they called him all the names in the book even new ones mentioned but never found to be true a Kook! They all minimized him every chance even Frank Luntz what a dunce and a fraud to the American people!
Even as Ron Paul beat McCain in Nevada and several other states not one mention in the primaries on the news! I even remember when Rudy's numbers jumped in one county by 6000 votes later to be found out to be a reporting error and you do not want to know what happened in New Hampshire I'm sure. lol yet in the state of Kansas Rudy has dismal showing if any at all fact. Yet is invited to the Republican Convention, hmmm I wonder would Ron Paul be invited? Then get this the News media fell in love with Huckabee for two weeks straight that's all we heard on every channel I'm not kidding for like 24 hours a day then yes you guessed it the Media moved on or should I say redirected to their Candidate. We watched in horror the complete Media Bias against Dr. Paul and the selection made to us by the news media. My fellow Americans we are not only lied to but the news and information is purposefully denied to us by our for profit news organizations.
Maybe soon I'll be forced to pay for some rich guys health insurance or pay through the roof for medicines, food, fuel and energy oh and I forgot those taxes got keep fighting an endless war somewhere. Then allow my son's to be drafted in some unjust war far away to support the Homeland! I think not! Just force feed us more of the BS media. You can never buy your way out of debt America at our current policy path, 64 trillion dollars people wake up have you heard that! Social Security is empty get it! You have been told all the issues we face are you listening! The Senate shares full responsibility as well as Congress and especially the President. Either way the Liberty from tax, globalism, fascism and oppression will continue thanks to Arron Russo and many others! The Federal Reserve can no longer be trusted! Stage 2 of the Ron Paul Revolution

Barack Obama is a firestarter. The man is downright inspiring. He doesn't have supporters; he has followers. And he could be exactly what the Ron Paul Revolution needs to really get this Campaign for Liberty running full steam ahead. Huh? What you say? You heard me. Now let me explain.
When Bill Clinton said that Obama was ready to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" at the DNC, I didn't know if I should laugh at the absurdity of the comment or cry at the thought of there being so many people who may actually believe that it's true.
Obama doesn't give a tinker's dam about the Constitution. In fact, neither party does. The reason they care so much about winning elections is precisely because the Constitution doesn't matter. If either party actually cared about the Constitution, they wouldn't propose grandiose visions of how they'd "Change" the country because they'd realize they don't actually have the Constitutional authority to enact such changes without an Amendment, or more precisely, a series of them.
As a fellow columnist noted earlier this week, the difference between the number of parties in Communist China and the Land of the Free is one. And despite what you may have heard this week at the DNC or what you'll hear next week at the RNC, there isn't much difference between the two. But there is one major similarity, and I'll state it again--neither one of them cares about your Constitutional rights as evidenced by their disregarding the same document's limitation of their powers.
Another thing they have in common is that they do care about getting elected so they can abuse those powers. And that's where the Revolution gets a boost from an Obama Presidency.
Experience has shown that a third party is very, very unlikely to ever get off the ground and make a difference. There is just too much to overcome in the time we have left before we go bankrupt. But infiltrating an existing party is actually much easier. And the perfect time to do it is when the party is down and searching for answers. Want two modern examples?
After 12 years of Republicans in office, the country was ready for a "change" in 1992. Ross Perot's reform party did well enough to get Bill Clinton elected. Grasping for straws, the Republicans turned to the Christian Right and swept back into power during the 1994 "Republican Revolution." Unfortunately, the people who were elected were more interested in staying elected than in leading any type of true revolution so that revolution ended when they swore in. That "revolution" turned out to be just politics as usual because of the people involved. However, two major factors that ushered in this quasi-revoltution are worth noting. What were they? A shocking loss in the previous election that caused the party to ask questions, unfortunately the answers they received weren't the right ones. The second--a young, charismatic Democratic President hell bent on socializing health care. Sound familiar?
Another example of a party being unknowingly infiltrated happened in 2001 after September 11th. I won't bore you with details, but you owe it to yourself to go read about "neo-cons." The party was down after a disputed election and a horrendous attack, and the timing was perfect to ideologically hijack the party for the purpose of power. The result is the war in Iraq, the destruction of civil liberties, an extreme unbalancing of the balance of powers, and a regime of fear-mongering. But to the neocons, these are all acceptable means to an end. However, there is nothing conservative about these means, and the end is a little darker than they'd have you believe. Even if we were successful in carrying out their plan to eradicate terrorism by using our strength as the world's lone superpower to democratize the world, by the time we're finished democracy may not exist here so the new superpower might just have to come democratize us.
But the neocons power is waning. People aren't nearly as afraid of terrorists as they were four years ago. People are sick of paying $4/gallon for gas. O'Bama's policies will help these people--temporarily. More money will be collected via taxes from people like me who "don't need it" (the fact that I've earned it matters not), and less will have to be printed. The middle class person's dollar will go further because it will be worth more. But the size of government will continue to grow until the temporary good of stealing money from people like me will be easily offset by the burgeoning size of our federal government.
Only this time instead of burdensome government growth in the name of "fighting terrorists" and united behind a banner of false patriotism, it will be grown to help Americans who can't help themselves-- those poor little things. In other words, the growth of the federal government and the adverse effects of that growth won't be played out in some foreign land or erode the rights of "America-hating liberals". It will be played out right here under our noses. Everyone will be affected. And people are not going to be happy about it. Especially the Republican Party.
Once the specter of Neo-Conservativism has vanished from the party and true conservatives have a chance to not listen to hour upon hour of brainwashing convincing them that criticizing unconstitutional government policy is "un-patriotic", the true Republican Party can re-emerge.
When the Republicans seek to regain power, they'll have to look for answers. The Christian Right was ready in 1994 to explain how America's "moral decay" was the true culprit of our problems. Nice try. The neo-cons were ready in 2001 with an explanation for why terrorists hated us so much and let us know in no uncertain terms that it was our lack of aggression in the 1990's that allowed 9/11 to happen. What a farce. But this time around, when people start asking, "How in the world can Obama basically turn America into a socialist country?" The only logical answer is the one Ron Paul has been shouting from the beginning--"It's the Constitution, Stupid!!!"
For once, the right people will have the right answer. Because this landslide election in November will shatter the body of the Republican Party, all that will be left is the heart and soul. Luckily for the Campaign for Liberty (and America), we are that heart and soul. This sentiment is also supported by a lightweight republican you may have heard of named Ronald Reagan who once said, "I believe the very heart and soul of conservativism is libertarianism." The body will be destroyed. The heart and soul will still beat and remain. Likely more strongly than ever before.
Unlike previous incarnations of one party sweeping into power, when the Republicans retake office whether it be in two, four, six, or eight years the people swearing in will actually be ready to do what they swear in to do--preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. And this message of Liberty is so pervasive, so powerful, and real that the only stump speech they'll need is this:
"Yes We Can" failed because "We" included the government. We're going to Washington to get Government out of YOUR way because the only true slogan that embodies the American Spirit and American Dream is this: Yes YOU Can!
First the local governments. Then the states. Then the Congress. Then the Presidency. Then the Courts. All for a government of the people, by the people, for the people. The way it was intended, should be, could be, and will be.
The Revolution Continues. Thanks for being a part of it.

I asked Ryun about the Bank Bail outs and mentioned that I was not happy about the vote and indicated that he was against it! However I found that both Kansas Senators Brownback and Roberts voted for the bill!
Lynn Carries a younger and a more informative voter!
Dick will be Dick Good fellow however I find his blind support also very unsettling! Dick Miller also is against the Bank Bail out!
